Hello guys . .as the topic suggests. I have a p1i mobile phone and the alumunium cover from the front has came off and i need to know what adhesive was it that held both the entities together.
When the alumunium cover came off i could rub the adhesive to remove it easily from the surface.
I'm a little paranoid about using some permanent adhesives because in case the joint made by them is failed , the surface wud become bad and any future application of adhesives wont work and it may hamper the sophisticated looks of the phone.

Please suggest me the adhesive that can get the work done.

Thanks in advance.
Arihant.

hi there,
I have quite the same problem, in fact my cover came off at the bottom, and I bought some case from eBay, which came with 3M sticker-like glue.

Hi Bro,the metal front cover of P1 is mounted NOT by adhesive material.
It has several clips under the surface and it fit with the clips socket below it.
If you want to replace it,just buy it one set front and back cover.
Please don't use adhesives in this case.

Superglue fixes everything. Here is a assembly tutorial.

Was looking at getting a black housing for my P1, the past 18 months have seen some bad days, and there are a dents on the corners.

I am just concerned about the fit. Has anyone actually tried any housings from Ebay, and could they comment on the quality and fit of it?

Be REALLY careful when using superglue on a mobile phone!!!!!!!

Super glue gives off fumes when drying which can stick to the surface of the LCD, this will result in a thin cloudy layer on the screen which CANNOT be removed.....

My advise is to strip the housing, super glue the aluminium cover and ONLY reassemble when you are sure the glue is dry!!!!

PS, anyone else annoyed by the way spell checkers try to make you spell Aluminium the wrong way... IE the American way? (no offence to Americans but you spell it wrong!!)
