I tried searching for this, but couldn't find a direct answer...pretty much, I know the w760 uses the same platform as the k850, but was wondering if it had been improved upon. Everyone knows of the k850's lagginess, but does the w760 exhibit the same traits?

I haven't ever had a K850i but do have a W760i and don't find it laggy, seems pretty quick through menus and when doing things - though don't know how useful this is as I don't have a K850i to compare it with!

K850 is actually very fast, especially when navigating through menus.

The only problem is when it does "multi-tasking", the phone becomes seriously slow.

Okay, I guess a better way of putting it is, is the w760 more stable than the k850? I'm looking for a replacement, and was considering the c910a, but really want a phone NOW. The w760 is pretty much all of what I want, with built-in aGPS, picture blogging, etc. However, the k850 is all that I want, but isn't the most stable of phones. I just don't want to get a ''newer problem phone''. Anyone have any advice with this new information? I guess I'm worried about getting a new phone where they decide to stop supporting, like they did with the k850...

It shouldn't be that laggy imho... I have tried the K850 hands on and it's speed is not spectacular . It was running older firmware though. But, I am pretty sure that the W760 is faster as it is based on the improved version of the A2 platform. (not 100% sure about this, I think i have read it somewhere around this forum). It should be faster. If not, you can get sure if it is fast enough, by going to the nearest mobile phone shop. You can ask them to power on the phone for you so you can try it before buying. If something wrong with it, go for another one.

I really wanted to like the W760, but I found the top row of keys difficult to press as they were too close to the slide.

I've found my W760i to be stable, I've had the odd crash (Usually in my aftermarket Opera browser or Yahoo! Go) but could count these crashes on my fingers since getting the phone about 6 months ago.

Awesome. Thank you guys for the responses. Sadly, in the US, I can't test the phone, as it's not been picked up by any carrier. However, I was not aware there a new A2 platform. Thanks for that info! I ordered my yellow and black model today!
