> Omnia or 5800?
Bookmark topic
Hi i'm currently looking in both of these devices. I don't know which would be better. my criteria for a phone would be an all-in-one phone(smartphone + multimedia). Judging by these 2 phones, omnia is a better option but the price is not within my budget yet. My budget is around 330usd. The price or omnia in my country now is around 458usd. Should i wait the price to go down because i really need an all-in-one phone before April? Can it really go down to around 330usd?
If omnia can't go down to that price before april, is the nokia 5800 recommendable for me judging by my situation? I've tried it last week. Most part of the OS is very snappy. Around 1-2 apps of the phone is kinda laggy. one of which is the bounce game. The screen resolution and sound is so nice but the camera is not that good. Overall the nokia 5800 is good but not as good as omnia.
If you don't want the phones that i chose, maybe you can recommend me an all-in-one phone that is priced around 330usd before april.
What can you recommend me guys? Tnx

Take the 5800!
Far better resolution
Better under direct sunlight
The only advantage of the Omnia is the camera of 5mp

Not only that. The browsing through the menus is better. One of the things that i want is that the camera quality should be average or higher; but the camera of 5800 based on reviews and from my testing doesn't live up to be a 3.2mp.

Nowadays NONE of the touch phones is perfect.
Iphone is the best looking one with the fastest UI,apps and games but it doesn't run bluetooth share,WAP...
5800 is the most complete but its UI is slow, touch is not really finger touch but finger-nail touch, camera is caca and 30% of them have a problem with battery(drain as fast as a N95 one)...
Omnia is very good looking like a iphone but the UI is slow(unless if you replace it by HTC one),best camera for a touch phone but very low resolution of screen and ''invisible'' screen under sunshine...
You should choose your priorities and what you can sacrifice then choose your touch phone

My criteria for a phone now would be smartphone features(calender w/c can be seen in homepage, ms office(at least docu viewer) & pdf), average or better sound and camera quality. (note for camera: quality should live up to its specs like if 3mp, quality should be an average or better 3mp) , internet(need TS coz not good when browsing in a non-ts device), not sluggish, user friendly, long battery life and no particular build as long is it's sturdy and doesn't feel wobbly.
So based on my criteria, which phone would be better for me? 5800 or omnia? you can recommend phones if you want. tnx

Meet the elephant in the room - it's called the iPhone 3G.
Just looking at the points raised in this thread, it's:
Affordable (with contract)
Fast, responsive UI - no sluggishness or lag whatsoever
Fantastic bright, colourful screen in any light
Great build quality (screen is glass, not plastic, hard to scratch)
Good battery life (1.5 days heavy use easy, a week or more in standby)
Document viewers for everything, editors for some types (eg spreadsheets) already in the appstore, more to come
Amazing gaming and much more in the Appstore
On the negative side, the calendar isnt' shown in the homescreen normally, but can be made to do so if you jailbreak and use the Intelliscreen app. The camera is only 2mp with no flash or autofocus, but to be fair to it, it's an "honest" 2mp that takes reasonable pictures in most conditions and is ready to go quite quickly (no waiting around while the moment's lost).
It's true that the iPhone's OS isn't quite as full featured as either WM or S60, but it's still improving with each Apple upgrade and useful new Appstore release, and it's already the phone that both the 5800 and the Omnia have tried, and failed, to beat.
