Hi Guys.
I am a new user of the T68i (LOVE IT!), and have been reading through the forums with great interest. From what I can tell, the firmware on the T68i in North America is usually older then the firmware in the UK. The question I can't find an answer for is... Can I get the phone upgraded in Europe and will it still work here in Canada? I currently have R3A023 and have had a few lockups using the phone with BT. Not sure if that's the problem but I've seen some threads that indicate that could be the problem.
I guess the point is that I will be in Europe later this week and wanted to know is any SE service people would upgrade the phone, and then, will it work when I get back?
Any help would be great!

I went down to First Canadian Place in Toronto and the tech at Fido store there upgraded my T68i from R3b to R6A no questions asked and my phone is not even with fido it's with Cingular in the US and the cost was around 17 Canadian dollars.

hello berzins!
were you able to successfully upgrade your phone in europe? how has it been working since then?
i live in new york city and was thinking about upgrading in london. i just purchased my t68i from amazon.com (tmobile) and it has the R3E002 firmware.
also, if anyone has any suggestions, tips or warnings regarding american/european upgrades, i would love to hear them.
thank you!

I was able to find a few places to do it, but they had to send it away to get done, so unfortunately I could not get it done. I've found a few places in Canada that I can get it done, but again have to send it away. Sorry I could not help. If I was you I would start inquiring now and see if someone can program it on site (there are people that will do that, but they have to be a certain level support centre).
