Hi
I am trying to use SEUS to check if there is any new firmware for my w890, but when I follow instructions, of holding C button and connecting usb cable the phone just boots up and connects as a usb mass storage device.
What am I doing wrong?

U haven't installed USB Flash drivers. They should be in a folder that u downloaded with SEUS.

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I tried many methods of installing the drivers, I even followed step by step instructions on this page
http://www.akshayy.com/sonyer[....]/installing-usb-flash-drivers/ but it still loads as a usb mass storage device (is the phone supposed to go to mass storage mode when you hold the C button?)
Does this have to do with the fact that I have PC Suite 4 installed (with its drivers)? It wasn't this difficult the last time I was connecting my k850, and the isn't much info on the SE website either

a couple of comments from me...
while other key combinations may work, the 'C' key should definitely work
I have *never* had to separately install the USB drivers. Indeed I setup a new laptop just last week and after installing SEUS I was able to check if my W890 had an update available. The drivers installed automatically when I first connected the phone while pressing the 'C' key. This has been the way it has always worked for me.
perhaps uninstalling SEUS and then reinstalling may solve this issue?

I had the same problem once but got it to work by doing a clean reinstall of the SE usb drivers.
Disconnect your mobile phone from usb and do this:
Create a system restore point as a preventive measure.
1. Go to Control Panel > System
2. Click 'Advanced' tab and then 'Environment Variables'
In System Variables create a new value using these information:
Variable name: DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES
Variable value: 1
Click OK.
3. Now go to Device Manager, click Advanced and select Show Hidden Device.
Now try to uninstall the drivers.
hope this helps.
