> HPM-85 detection error?
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys,
I just recently got a pair of hpm-85 headphones and I could say I enjoy both the sound and feel of it from my previous experiences with the hpm-70/80/64/65.
Hope you guys could help me out with this query though, eacg time I use it with my k618i, as I insert it through the fastport, it says hpm-85 but when I scroll onto the accessories menu of the phone itself, it reads hpm-82.
Anything wrong with that? Does it affect the sound quality or any other matter with these headphones? I tried it on my W900i & it says the same thing.
TIA

weird
there's a label near the fastport connector. it has the model name and some other info. does it say hpm-85? also, did you get it brand new?

I just got one new. It came in a walkman-branded box, but has no label near the connector (it was cheap but it seems very original). I have a (broken) HPM-82 and I think the cable part is technically the same, so I can imagine the phone making a tiny mistake.
By the way, this HPM-85 sounds better than any SE-headset I had before. It seems louder too.

yep got it brand new boxed...its kinda weird though since every time i plug it onto the phone itself...it reads hpm-85 on the screen but still remains at hpm-82 on the accessories menu for either my k618 and w900.

probably a bug with the phone's firmware. have you tried it with another phone?

yep both on k618 and w900. My W900 is on the latest firmware already, I tried updating my k618 through SEUS but it said that latest firmware already installed. Its currently on R1ED APAC which is weird since I saw in another forum that R1KG was laready installed in one other k618 also under APAC.
And regarding the label, it says hpm-85 at the back of the remote section of the headset cable.
