my internet service provider doesn't allow me to use its smtp server (smtp.zonnet.nl) with GPRS.... Is there another (general) smtp server I can use to send emails from my phone using my own email adress?

you can go to www.orbs.org and look at the blacklist of SMTP servers there and pick your own. The reason your ISP doesnt support the SMTP function is because of open relay, so that someone who is not "connected" to their network cannot send SPAM all over the world off their server. I speak from personal experience, and it is horrible being blacklisted form every major university, ISP, etc...etc... GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Ask the provider of the GPRS connection. (your GSM network operator)
Usually they have a server you can use.
