I have a SonyEricsson HBH-600 Bluetooth headset paired with a SonyEricsson G502, however when I make a call after a few seconds the phone looses the connection with the headset and I am offered the chance to move the sound to the phone. I am wondering if the phone is not compatible with this headset? I have no problems using the headset with my AppleMac or previous SonyEricsson phones I have owned - T610i, K700i, K750i, K610i.

Do I need to purchase a new headset, or am I doing something wrong the headset connection. If I need a new headset can someone suggest some good SonyEricsson headsets?

Many thanks
Jon

Its certainly not your headset. It SE's buggy A200 platform that causes the problem.SE even know about the problem and can't fix it.I did make a thread about this a few months ago.Have a search for it.I've used every A200 platform phone that has been released to date and they all have the same problem.Have tried them with HBH600,GV435,DS220,PV712 and plenty of others. So far SE have not provided me with a solution since contacting them in July 08.

Thanks for the information. I guess I will have to use my wired HPM-82 headset with my G502 if I need handsfree calling. Hopefully Sony come up with a fix, as it is stupid that the firmware on their latest handsets does not work with bluetooth headsets! A friend has a W880i would the HBH-600 work with that?

Many Thanks

Yes it will work fine with A100 platform phones like the W880.It will also work fine with UIQ/Symbian handsets.I've gone back to A100 myself as they're a lot less hassle than the recent SE handsets.

Seems the W880i don't like the HBH-600 headset either. When I tried the HBH-600 with the W880i but that cut out after a few seconds with the phone. I wonder whether the age of the headset means it is not compatible with the latest SonyEricsson phones, which is strange considering it works really well with my 3 Skypephone, (original model).

The HBH-600 and W880 should work fine together. I used to have the same setup. My dad's using my old HBH-600 now with his K800 and its fine.
Only difference is that the HBH-600 uses the old style charger connector as opposed to the newer headsets using a version of the Fastport connector to charge from..

The A100 platform phones sometimes used to automatically disconnect at times when on standby but never during a call. When a call is made/received. The phone and headset would automatically connect again.

If the headset disconnects when in standby. All you would need to do is press the button on the headset and it will connect again.

Managed to get the HBH-600 and W880i to work together, so that the headset doesn't cut out when in standby, however when a call is made or received the headset cuts out after a few seconds, so I guess it's time to replace the HBH-600 with a new headset. Any reccomendations?
