I was walking home in the early hours of tuesday morning, after a skinful of lager, when I tripped and fell forwards breaking my ankle in two places. Im going to be in a tight cast for 6 weeks now and laid up in bed. I cant even move about because it throbs like hell when I do. I have just been discharged from hospital and am now at home.

Does anyone have any tips for when it itches? As I was warned against pushing objects down the cast. A nurse told me that a hairdryer on cool setting will help, but I havent tried it yet.

Yea, it was the snows fault. What I think happened was the snow covered the kerb and I didnt realise, until it was too late. Not really sure, it was £1 a pint night so that didnt help!
I remember laying down in the snow for about 10 minutes before I could work through pain to drag myself up and sit on a nearby bench so I could ring an ambulance.
Spent most of yesterday doped up to the eyeballs.

Ooo, that sounds nasty HornyNick, I haven't broken any bones yet but I don't like the sound of that one bit.

Get well soon mate.

Sounds very painful indeed.

They say dont put anything down there, but a knitting needle, or a large ruler works a treat.
