> Will Ericsson/ SE release a house (DECT) phone?

I have the Ericsson DECT 230 cordless phone and i absolutely love it. It is old, i admit, now 3 years old, but it still is slick and does a good job. I wouldnt replace it for any of the SIEMENS/PANASONIC/SAMSUNG cordless phones out there right now, so does anybody know if ericsson or se are planning on releasing more cordless phones?

No, I don't think they will!!! I really want an Ericsson DECT cordless phone as well...but alas, they never released them here in the Philippines!

I also have the Ericsson DECT cordless phone, model 260 I think and it's there still isn't, 3 years later, a new cordless that can match it. Shame they stopped making them. Maybe if they made a Bluetooth base station I could use my P800 as the handset at home.... hmm...

Ericsson was working on one prior to the merger with Sony. Don't know what happened to it. You'll need to buy a lot of those BT base stations though, since BT only has an effective range of 30 feet. There are a few BT devices for the PC that have a 100ft range, but the extended range only works with other long range BT devices, when communicating with a regular BT device (like a mobile phone), range is reduced to the standard 30 feet.

Is it possibly because mobile networks are becoming so cheap that there is no real need for this? I know of several friends (specifically in Sweden) who have terminated their fixed line phones, and only use a mobile phone (and broadband for internet)...
I wish I could cancel the home phone number, I mean honestly, who needs a second number to confuse people with - I am my mobile phone number... =)

I believe that Ericsson sold their DECT development to Ascom so maybe you have to look for Ascom products now. You could look for a second hand market on handsets for the office DECT systems if your basestation GAP compatible the office handsets should work with your home station to.
