Does anyone know the difference? Live Mesh is already up and running, but, My Phone seems like the same exact thing
Is Live Mesh WM only and My Phone multi-platform?
Live Mesh
My Phone
Both are currently free.

Just joined My Phone and I see the difference now. My Phone is purely sync between your phone and the cloud. Live Mesh only deals with file transfer and syncing between your phone and multiple computers within your "Mesh". So they both work on the same "sync with the cloud" principals but aren't the same function-wise.
My Phone = syncing phone data such as contacts, music, photos, calendar, etc.
Live Mesh = syncing files/folders between many computers in your Mesh (Home PC, Laptop, Business PC, Mac, WM phone, etc.).

I'm running both as well, but I haven't found an advantage in either one.
Unfortunately, My Phone limits the user to 200mb. Where that becomes a problem is with syncing your storage card. My Phone doesn't provide the flexibility to specify the folders to sync within the storage card (I have a 16gb card). On the other hand, it does sync wirelessly, but it would be nice if I could incorporate my MS Outlook into the mix. This would totally eliminate the need for a MS Exchange server. So any updates I make to my contact, calendar, etc, will require a secondary sync with Outlook once I tether my phone to my pc. This also doesn't have a file sharing feature (i.e. photo, music, etc. share).
Live Mesh constantly syncs my selected windows folders, but not very useful for the X1 as it needs to be tethered to the phone in order to sync.
So for those file backup functions listed above, there are plenty alternative sites (i.e. box.net, carbonite, etc.) for syncing general folders to an online site.
My Phone gets the edge simply because it backs up your SMSes and allows you to sync and access it wirelessly on the MyPhone site. That is the only unique feature. The obvious negatives are the limitations for specifying storage card folders to sync, 200mb space limitation, and file sharing limitation (big disappointment). I just received an update to MyPhone today, but the site is down for maintenance.

Live Mesh syncs wirelessly for me--no need to tether. You have to have Live Mesh client running on the X1 and the folder options has to be set to automatically sync with the X1 (right click->Change Sync Settings). By default, they're not.
Maybe I'll try putting Live Mesh client into the X1 startup folder, if I can do such a thing.
