Please help advice needed. I decided to go back to having a contract but did 4 contracts and every network refused me. Vodafone T Mobile Orange and 3UK. O2 asked for massive deposit. My credit rating is fine i dont get it. I did all these through Carphonewarehouse. Yet years back i used to have contracts and had huge bills and paid on time. I have zero debts. My question is would i have better chance going direct to the networks rather than Carphone? So wanted contract cos i wanted to save money getting sick of pay as you go. Any advice would be cool thanks.

Well have any of your circumstances changed since your last contract? Change of address, change of bank etc.

I went direct to the 3 store for my last contract. I thought I wasn't gonna get one but in the end they wouldn't let me leave without one.

Only my bank details have changed but my contracts i had were back in the days when the W900 was out :-S Anyway i once had a contract with every network and 3UK actually rang me up once saying i can have a contract. Maybe i should go straight to them. Cos my girlfriend is also on 3UK.

My brother went to the carphonewarehouse to get a contract with 3uk, then when the guy did a credit check on my brother he said that he failed. After leaving the store my brother went to 3uk directly and he ended leaving the 3uk store with a contract and a phone.

My advice is go straight to the network store directly.

All I know is O2 have just changed their credit check policy, if you now fail our phone based credit check or you're asked for a deposit then we'll automatically offer you a simplicity sim-only contract, prodvided your credit check wasn't really really bad lol.

Oh thats interesting about O2 i did read that somewhere. Think i shall go to 3UK store then as my girlfriend is with them you can get unlimited 3 to 3 mins on some plans. Frustrating stuff.

rumour is that cpw have got a different credit check than the networks themselves.

I tried to get a Xperia through e2save/onestopphoneshop and they had none of it, but went direct with voda and they accepted it fine. A lady in my bank did tell me that a helluva lot of people have been declined for mobile phone contracts lately as they seem to be tightening up. I've got a question for anyone that works for a network or a shop, can you get refused for an upgrade?

No, upgrades are just extending your contract, you've already shown the network you can pass a credit check, an upgrade just renews and/or extends the contract rather than re-credit checking you.
