Chris Bangle, Head of BMW Design and the man responsible for some of the worlds best and most controversial car designs including 'Flame Surfacing' and the 'Bangle Butt' is leaving to start his own Design Studio.
I personally think he's a genius and his designs were ahead of their time, but I know few would agree with me.

This thread is for your comments on Bangles designs - your favourites or the cues you disliked the most. Perhaps we'll see a Bangle designed mobile phone ala the Porsche Design P9521?
Link to the news article about Bangle's resignation from BMW:

Some memorable Bangle designs (in no particular order):
BMW Z4
BMW M6
BMW M5
BMW M1 Homage
BMW 7-series with infamous Bangle Butt

I think I'll miss the guy.
Going the same way as Henrik Fisker, is he?

I hope BMW continues in the direction Bangle gave them. He's definitely one of my favourite car designers and I love the latest BMWs.

I'll miss the guy, I love the M3 and M5 so much. His worst designs though are for those market fillers like the X3 and 1 Series. The new Z4 is also a looker.

That's the best thing Fiat have done since they let Lancia put a Ferrari V8 in the Thema sedan.

I almost put up a pic of that car in my post.

Being a Beemer fan and owner myself I have to say he was good but when he got bad he was horrible! The 5 series is lovely except the sides of the rear lights. Of course, another person may feel differently. As for that famous butt on the 7 series it was terrible!
I love the current 7 series, really beautiful. The 6 series is one of his great works. I think the M1 Hommage is the best looking sportscar BMW has ever designed. By the way, when does production of the Hommage start? I also wish they didn't cancel the CS, thought that was a fresh design.

@EMS06
The M1 Homage is just a concept drawing/design exercise. Production is still a way off.

It was a concept until BMW received too many enquiries. A decision was then taken last year to manufacture it.
Same goes for the BMW CS, it was a concept then it was to be put in production until the so called credit crunch put a halt to its production.
The Homage IS going to be put into production.

Well, I eagerly await to see it in the metal.
Just see if it happens in the next 3-5 years.
