hi, i have a sony ericsson k850i that has been sitting in the draw for a few months... i stopped using it because its got the crappy orange software and i dont like it so i was using my w910i but now im bored of that so i want to get rid of the orange software on my k850i so i can start using it. can anyone please help? any help would be great, Thanks.

It's many tutorials here.
You can do this:

First, download A2Uploader_full. Then download K850_R1FA035_MAIN_GENERIC_SO_RED52,
K850_R1FA035_FS_ADRIATIC_RED5 and the customize K850i_1201-0083_R11A_GENERIC_ADRIATIC. After start A2Uploader_full, press the "ADD" button and put the MAIN and FS mentioned above, right in this order. Then press "Flash". After flash is finished, press "FileSystem tool", go to "TPA/preset/custom" and copy all files from K850i_1201-0083_R11A_GENERIC_ADRIATIC (after you unrar them). Now you're done, take out the battery and put it again and start the phone.
Files mentioned above you can find on 4shared.com.

how about the file K850_R1FA035_FS_ADRIATIC_CID52
would that be the same?

and would your tutorial work with

Optus Zoo(australia) ???

my phone current Firmware is R1FA035

Debranding can be done this way.
There is no free method for unlocking yet.

and as i read, ADRIATIC is europe, but i'm with Australia, Optus.
i was wondering if they are the same,

try searching though google i found a site that had a firmware package, with all the firmware in one download and i debranded my phone with no problems at all cheers

i did a bit of googling and got pointed to 1202-5727 AU/BLUE

it working wonder now
the original optus one. no matter what theme i change to.i still get the same menu's icon.
now they look pretty good.
