I have K810i with HPM 64. It sounds excellent with earphone. But for the sake of change or you can say to upgrade my earphone today i went to a SE shop in search of HPM 70. The cost was 30$ with 1 yr waranty. I tried it there . To my surprise- it had no bass and very low sound !! I cleaned my earphone jackand tried it again but no luck. I tried 4 other piece of HPM 70 but could not get the true sound quality.(it sounded worst than any crap headphone.)
Even owner of SE shop tried it on his own w810 but problem was there with the sound quality.
i tried it at anothere two shops also but can't get true quality sound.
they told me that it come with bill and warannty of one year.
i dont think that the fault is with my phone b'cos it sounds perfect with my old HPM 64.
so, any one with the same situation faced?

Don't get me wrong, but HPM70 are meant to be put into your ear goood.
So your ears are some sort of "closed"
. Also the reason for no bass or crap sound quality may be the headset itself (not the connector, you or the phone)... There are some cheap copies of the HPM70 with don't have ANY bass elements...

Agree with strizlow!
I actually have both the headsets you have and can tell you that the difference is obvious and discernable. It sounds to me like you got yourself a fake hpm-70 headset.

I take it you bought them from a reputable seller? It could be that they are all from a faulty batch.

I have a HPM-82, technically the same earbuds, and they also sound very weak. Unless, like Strizlow said, I put them in my ears very tight. This way, they are very uncomfortable to me, so I don't use them anymore. I prefer on-ear or surround ear headsets. Now I got a HPM-85, the best SE-headset I've ever had (but not as clear as my Sennheisser HD-215).
HPM-64 is also good considering it's price.
Conclusion; if you can't fit in-ear headsets well into your ears, they will never sound good. I don't think yours are fake, they probably just don't fit your ears right.

The hpm-70 isn't the best headset around, but it sounds ok just ok i've never had any problems with any of mine, comapared to my cx300's then it sounds rubbish with no volume or bass.

today i bought probably a fake HPM 70 for 10$. the packaging was like original but the sound is horrible.
have a look at some pic of it. (all were taken in Document mode, so colors will look saturated)

for general music (not radio) i would use bluetooth hbh ds200 (or 220, 205...) with denon ahc551 (or 751) earphones. short cable (for use with the BT) & extension cable.
