yeah, its actually very useful.
I often quote a post that I am replying to so that I can see the text of what I am replying to in order to get a better focus on the content of my reply, and then delete the quote before I press submit
now there is no need to do that!

Excellent JOB!
So I think Esato was upgraded?! Glad to see this welcome change, hoping more useful changes like this come in the future. This is great for feature A1/2/3 phones' NetFront browsers here.

The next feature to be implemented is email notification of new PMs. I started on this before the MWC, but had to postpone the work until I got back. It is a little more complicated than I first anticipated. You will understand why when it is up and running.

Laffen, can I please make a suggestion? It's a simple change but would really make a difference to some posters (like me) I think.
I know the innards of this forum because I used to run one based on the same PHPBB v1 code, and I hacked it to bits to fix this and various other problems.
Right now, if you post a message with a signature, your signature gets printed nicely at the bottom in a small grey font, differentiating it from the rest of the message. However, if you then edit that message, your signature appears in the edit window along with the rest of the text, and then gets posted again as regular text, along with the whole [This message was edited by...] schtick.
The reason for this is the [addsig] token. When you post a new message and tick the box to add your signature, the [addsig] token gets saved as part of the message text (like a smiley or a piece of BBCode) and then when the message is displayed as part of a topic, the forum converts that [addsig] into the users signature (whatever it is at that time).
Unfortunately, when you edit a post, that [addsig] token is removed and replaced with the signature text, and from then on it's not used again. What *should* happen is that the edit form strips out the [addsig] token completely, but then adds it back in again when the edit is saved - that way the signature doesn't get repeated in the body of the text, and still looks like a proper signature.
It'd be nice if the edit form also stripped out any old [Edited by...] tags as well before adding the new one, so you don't have them repeated at the end of posts when people have gone back to change things more than once.
Hope some of that makes sense... I probably still have the code samples kicking around somewhere if you want.
I've edited this a few times just to make my point! Notice how my signature below isn't in nice grey print anymore?
