My phone goes to sleep (screen goes blank)

Phone still working, rings when a call comes, alarm still goes off but for some reason the keyboard wont wake up - so i cant answer the call or switch the alarm off

Only way to wake the keyboard back up is take out/replace the battery then it's fine again

There's nothing wrong with the keyboard - it works fine whilst the phone is awake - i play games no problem

Anyone eles had this and whats the cure?

I wondered about buying a new casing off Ebay (incl new keyboard)

Ebay is a good place to buy new casing, but watch out for fake ones, ive tried them once and they are horrible

Try doing a Master Reset (make sure you back up your data) If that doesn't work then try SEUS, and if that doesn't work I guess you can assume it is a hardware fault. Although I wouldn't go buying spare parts and replacing them, when it could just be a simple software problem, so wait until you're sure it's not something to do with the firmware. I think it proabably is something to do with the phones FW because it would be a bit strange otherwise.
Also I presume you phone is the W890i right?

Good Luck, and trust me you probably can't feel as bad as I do with my phone just now

DO NOT BUY THAT!!!

Firstly, a tip I've learnt is that on ebay you NEVER (no matter what product it may be) buy from places like Hong Kong, I'd if possible go for a UK seller (I take it your from there) If there is a problem it is much easier to communicate with them. If there is a problem it's probably easier to keep the item them waste time and money sending back to Hong Kong. Secondly in that listing it does not say it's genuine anywhere so you've got no excuse for a return on that part, also from the image the quality looks okay but I'm sure it is over exaggerated and not the real item you'll receive. Lastly buying covers from ebay is a mistake even with a UK seller.

For that item you're paying round up to £11 whereas here:
http://www.datakits.co.uk/sto[....]lver-housing-cover-p-5510.html It's £15 but the 4 pound extra is worth it for the quality you'll get from a genuine Sony Ericsson product. (you may even be able to get it cheaper, look around on google)

Good luck on fixing your problem, although I still am unsure if this will fix it. Maybe it is the actual keypad membrane because I don't understand why it would not work when the screen goes off, - obviously it's something happening to a change in the electrics so I am not sure if replacing the cover will fix it as that is not an electronic part. But hey what do I know? If you want to just got for it.
