Both have similar network options such as HSDPA, Quad band, candybar.
The main disadvantage for the C702 is the keypad, which takes getting used to. The W890 is the choice if you want music and don't care about GPS or good camera. Personally I went for the C702. The C702 is 25grams heavier than the W890, but thats not a big deal for me.

I think your choice is the W890 if you want a music phone and C702 if you want a more rugged phone with good camera. My guess is that with music playback the sound quality is the same. Mind you the C702 has a very loud speaker, one of the loudest I've heard.

In my opinion C702 is better, but W890 looks nicer, also, it has Walkman shortcuts, so, for your specific needs i also think a W890 would be better

I have both (well, technically, since my brother is using the W890) and I'll say that the W890 has a better keypad. It's also a bit faster. But the C702 is a decent enough all rounder for me.
