Anyone on orange notice how slow the gprs is over wap.
if i use gprs to get my freeserve mail via gprs in the msg menu its lightening fast.
the minute i go to us wap (via orange) its so slow
any idea can it be speed up via phone setting or is it just the nature of orange service.
i have tried the above at the same time to make sure its not just me

cheers orangeman noticed some difference
in terms of downloading e mails have you checked the setting are correct i.e. under e mail and options edit account
have you put the protocol in the server names and port numbers etc.
ntl will have these settings try them
not sure if ntl is pop3 or imap4

korova listed these on another post - thank him - I haven't tested them.
To pick up my ntlworld E-mail account using Orange GPRS, I have the following settings:
Menu>
Messages>
E-mail>
Options>
Edit account>
Add new?>
(call it whatever you want)
Connect using> Orange GPRS Internet
Protocol> POP3
Inc. server> pop.ntlworld.com
Incoming port> 110
Mailbox> (ntlworld user name)
Password> (ntlworld password)
Outgoing server> 193.35.131.155 (Orange SMTP Server)
Outgoing port> 25
E-mail address> (ntlworld E-mail address)
Download> Headers+text
The other options are up to you.

my handset is fine - it's not broadband

so I don't know what you'd define as being slow - it should take about 5 secs to load a page with a few images.
I am trying to work out how to set a speed test up for my wap site
