Last saturday was my brothers birthday, so there was a party at home. Of course I used the C905 to take pictures, but also used an old Samsung Digimax 301 (3.2mpx, fixed focus, don't know sensor/lenses settings).

The photos of C905 compared with the point-and-shoot are a piece of sh*t. I know it's because the Samsung camera is a dedicated camera but here's an example.

*Yeah, my brother doesn't look pretty on close up

What is wrong here? He's not purple.

Both camera's had settings on Auto with red-eye reduction (btw none of them worked). I also used the Twilight portrait but the result was the same.

No phone camera beats any compact or professional camera yet dont care what anyone says. I used to get similar results with my old K800i. And the flash there has made his skin look dreadful compared to the Samsung.

You fell for the 8megapixel rubbish , it's just a resolution nothing more, the digicam has a better sensor a ccd with a better pixel size around 2.5µm & a better lens, the phone has a cmos sensor around the same size as the digicams cdd but with a smaller pixel size of around 1.75µm. Your digicam will always be better.

Thanks, I know that mobile cams won't ever beat any digicam. But I was just wondering if there's some settings to make things a little bit better.

You can try to change white ballance settings. And take picture with "smile shutter" it will improve picture a little bit, but it will newer be as good as real camera. And finally try to take picture outside when weather is nice THAT will help

It's always amusing when people expect their phone to replace their dedicated camera. It's a phone first. Yes, it's a "better" camera than the ones we first had, but it's a phone first. Good grief.
