Hi all.

First Question: Will a 16gb M2 card work in a Sony Ericsson P1i?

Second Question: With UIQ being made redundant got me thinking. if and when SE release this new OS will they design an install package for older phones like the P1i that users could update to and work? or are phone only compatible with the native OS they were shipped with.

Yes i use a 16gb in my p1, it works fine, but if you have alot of music on it like i do (over 600 tracks) it takes the media player a while to update.

There will be nothing new for the p1.

Don't use the inbuilt media player, it is crap. Coreplayer or LCG are good options. Also, put your music in folders of 50 songs or so and the access time will be so much quicker.

mhm... but core and LGC juke. aren't that good like the built in one. I don't really know how to explain it, but the built in one is better in sound, it is "hardware accelerated" or something like that.

i have a 16mn M2 on my phone and about 3,000 songs on it. some of my playlists have about 200 songs on them.

once i filled up the M2, it took maybe 30 min for the phone to do a full update of all the tracks and playlists. so yeah, it takes a while but since you only do it once, it doesn't really bother me.

when you add songs later on and ask the phone to update the files, it doesn't take that long anymore.

for playing music, i use the walkman v3 player and am very happy with it.

I use the walkman v3 player and a M2 8GB works like a charm.
