Watched it all day yesterday on the news. Was anyone affected?

The Banks have been screwing us for years with inflated bank charges and now the tax payer's money is not only bailing them out but happily keeping them content with outrageous bonuses - bonuses for bringing the economy to it knees.

Your thoughts.

I work near Moorgate and since this company hasn't given me the ability to work from home yet I came in early yesterday and stayed locally overnight and will go home this afternoon

The Moorgate area was fine but there were helicopters flying overhead from mid morning until midnight almost non stop as its only 5 minutes down the road to Bank.

I've always disagreed with the sorts of bonuses and pension schemes than CEO's and the like get, and not just in banks, but moreso at what the politicians get just for doing their chosen job... in UK I heard the other day they get an average of £150,000 expenses a year!

What makes their job so different from any of us that work our guts out? As an IT contractor I am often away from home but can't claim half the stuff they do

don't get me started...

It makes me sick.

People have lost livelihoods and businesses that they have built up for years.

Yes, its fine to have Performance Related Pay but honestly, some of the amounts I have been reading about skewers the imagination.

There are good, honest, hardworking people out there who struggle to get food on the table every day and when I hear about these so called "second homes" and "overnight allowances" it really makes my blood boil. Really!

The amount of tax we pay and they are basically living the Life of Riley. Grrrrr!

well, with the banks number under alot of scrutiny from the government (and the people) and the Commitee on Standards in Public Life conductnig the MP expenses review, we can only hope that this will be the last time they will get away with it so easily

You know what? Something tells me they will always get away with it.

The theme that I picked up on was that 'politics is supposed to be about the people not about the profit.'

It seems they are in the last chance saloon this time around. May 1st will see some voices heard.

Tony Benn MP will right up there.

Totally agree Gface, however, putting a brick through the RBS window and helping oneself to what you can put your mitts on, is hardly likely to further the cause IMO
