> using K600 as modem

i have succesfully used my old K700I as a modem for my laptop and using some tricks, i have been able to FBT/UBT using my laptop. but K700I is just a GPRS phone. wanting a need for more speed, i am planning to buy a 3G sony ericsson phone, to have a 3G experience for my UBT/FBT laptop, and i intend to use K600, a 3g phone as a modem.
but the question is, MODEM driver in windows is limited to 112KBps baud rate as fastest rate!?!? so if i use the K600 3G phone as modem, im still going to be limited to the 112KBps LIMIT? even though 3G could go as fast as 2MBps, i cannot experience the full 2MBps for my UBT/FBT on my laptop due to the 112KBps baud rate limitation modem driver?
can someone enlighten me?
