So, how many of you are using the P800 without the keypad? If you are, did you remove it to make the phone's footprint smaller, or for any other reason?

Thanks for any information.

Keypad off.
Reason 1. Pressure on keypad transmits to one of the pins & has brocken the screen on Esato members phones in 2 instances.
Reason 2. Text input is faster on small virtual qwerty keyboard than any t9 i`ve used.(or the multi tap on p8)
Reason 3.It looks & handles better, particularly when gaming.
Reason 4.Virtual keypad works fine with your finger.
Reason 5.I hate phones with flips or hinge actions.
Reason 6. It feels horrible.

Did I read correctly here on esato that SE is planning on shipping replacement keypads? Any details on them? I actually like flip pads. I had a palm phone hybrid with no keypad and hated the "greasy screen" problem...

Thats not a problem because most phone type opperations can be done using the jog dial. i havn`t seen any posts on replacement keypads that i think were genuine SE news.

I used the keypad on until tonight and I like it with the keypad off. It makes the unit a little sleeker and the virtual keyboard works great

both:
keypad on: to protect the screen from accidents... wldnt want to break it
keypad off: looks cool.. usually take it off..

it doesnt change much in my perspective...

This is sort of off topic, but related to keypads....indirectly. Is there a limit to length of a post when posting from WAP via the P800 (or any other WAP device)?

I didn't think that I would say this but the keypad is off! It is much cooler without it. If you have the display pointing to your leg it will not be damaged. (I hope)

It is easier to destroy the screen with the keypad than it is without...
Because the keypad bends in and crushes the display...
