depends on when the phone left the factory... they put in the firmware that is the latest at that time.... but then it might be in the shop for a while before it's sold and a new firmware is released during this time

T68i Bond Edition is the mineral grey T68i... it has some Bond themes, ringtones, an extra CD with a demo of the game 007 Nightfire... and also the IBT-20 (the torch that you connect to the bottom of the phone)

presumably this is a custom edition of whatever the current firmware was when they made it.. if you need to flash it, you'll lose all the bond stuff, no?

no... since themes/ringtones/pictures are not effected when upgrading it uses the ordinary firmware

Because I got a reply from SE customer care centre telling me that it was recommended to backup my phone memory before upgrading the software as the process will erase all phone memory and settings.
Does that include themes/ringtones/pictures?

It would if there is something wrong with the way the upgrade has been done. They tell you to do so just for precautionary measures. Had mine upgraded before but I got my themes/pics/ ringtones intact after the update.

blah.. it was cool for the first week..
then it got really gay when the movie became out of date..
basically I hv R5D so I can still upgrade... if I'm not mistaken
I want the good ol sony logo...
