Anyone got any views on how good, bad O2 mobile web is in general ?

Speed is what I am interested in, sales say it is quick enough for the likes of BBC iPlayer on the move.

You findings please folks.

I find Mobileweb pretty good speedwise, though one annoyance (not sure if other networks do this) is when the signal swaps from say and Edge connection to HSDPA or vice versa there's an annoying delay of about 10-20 secs before page loading/downloading continues which has occasionally lead to connection errors too.

Not tried streaming iPlayer to my phone yet but imagine with an HSDPA signal (which is getting quite widespread now on O2) you should be OK. I think their max speed is 3.6mbps, I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong

It varies here. On both my T700 and my LG Renoir speeds vary from fast to a crawl. I suppose it depends on where you are and the server load.

Was worried about this too, but I've found there to be very widespread HSDPA coverage where pages load very fast, to be honest because of this I can't comment on the speed with normal Edge connections or even plain 3G.

I found there 3G & HSDPA , very unreliable and it would nearlly always cut out & could be as slow as 2g at times.

Thanks for the input guys, around here I always get a good signal on O2 maybe that being so close to Crystal Palace towers it helps.

Just wondering if streaming BBC iPlayer, Youtube , Google videos would be a possibility.

mine will be fine when outside but often lose it inside or have 1/2 bars when sat next to a window

I agree, don't know how people find it fast, also i found there 3g coverage quiet poor.
