I bought a headphone adapter on ebay that way I could use my preferred earbuds without needing to carry around the extra cord/mic that came with my W910i. The sound quality and volumn is much lower than when I use the original adapter (HPM-70). I didn't think that would happen with just a simple cord, is there something I can do to fix this or is there a better adapter to buy?

check the impedance of your headphone speaker if it is 64 ohms using a multitester

I've got a nice set of earbuds, Philips she9850 - easily comparable with $200-300 headphones. It's got a low impedence of 16ohms, but the problem is that using the hpm-70 adapter the volume and quality is fine. Once I use the ebay purchased adapter the volume and quality drops to crap.

The adaptors you can purchase in sites like Ebay are not originals, that's why the lower quality. Try getting a bluetooth headset like HBH-DS200/DS205/DS220, much better quality with your earphones and without the cables

Any recommendation for Earbuds which has noise-canceling feature that cuts out the background noise?
