> Navigation with P800?
Bookmark topic
Are there any map/navigation applications available for P800 or are there any news of porting one form other devices?
Good examples are TomTom Route and GPSPilot for Palm.
I'm building a navigation system for my car and I need a display unit connected to my GPS-receiver. It would be easy to buy a Palm since it has plenty of programs available, but if there's a good program existing (or coming) to P800 I could go that way. P800 would be a perfect all-in-one device (without GPS of course).

I know someone makes a 'naked' GPS-unit with bluetooth only. That would be the perfect choice, but you would need software to the P800 to make it work.

If there will be a gps accessory available for the p800 it would be great.

Yep I had a same idea... when i didnt find anything
I wanted to write application for p800
which will take coordinates from bluetooth gps then my application will send coordinates to my web server which is always on line... which then publish jpg picture with your detailed map.. which can be redownloaded to p800 via build in browser.
Advantage is that like this you can get most detailed map of where u r. To make application with your own data in p8800 will be probably very costly for programmer and i am sure application like that will apear anyway.
Only what keeps me away from doing this is cost of gps "brick"

Now, THAT's what i call a clever application. Even the GPRS-transfer shouldn't be too heavy(costly). Probably the idea is just too good to be materialized.

Yeh i got also idea that once i will have my server running i can provide also aditionall services for others... updating maps
with weather, trafic local evening events but this will cost efective
only when additionall charge will be introduced or more ppl will be using it so advertisment will pay for usage...
anyway if anybody got any more idea let me know maybe we can start with something small and build up on that

I saw this p800 software package on e-bay that offers a whole bunch of stuff, and apparently also has standalone gps software for the p800. Does anyone know anything about this? Or has anyone bought any of those cd's?
