It's not too surprising. In New Zealand they have the exclusive rights to the iPhone, and I'm quite sure we're not the only country where Vodafone offers it.

Vodafone UK doesn't have it cos 02-UK have it!
I know it's available through other Vodafone companies across the globe but not here in the UK,
it would be intresting if it were to come available on Voda UK though,
as far as i can see vodafone seem to be doing rather well atm, well everytime I need to ring them there a 20min wait lol when I first joined I got through in a jiffy
I prefer Vodafone over 02 I think 02 have lost there USP lately!

Yes I know O2 have it, but they can't have it forever, so Vodafone seems like the most likely candidate to get it next, considering they have experience ith it elsewhere in the world.

Well over here, the iPhones aren't branded (AFAIK) so it will probably be the same over there

Rather than the exclusivity simply swapping between O2 and Vodafone, the really interesting possibility which some are predicting (if you read the articles above) is Apple dropping the exclusivity agreements altogether. Arguably it's done it's job now - O2 and the others have given the iphone the best possible start for a new handset, but the best way of selling a lot more now is to offer it on any choice of network..

Apple should start there own phone network and let the other boys sell what they want *Joking*
is there any speculation on this at the Vodafone eForum btw?

It's certainly been mentioned - there's an "official" post on it here -
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=21001&st=40
Like most official posts in relation to unconfirmed rumours and speculation, it doesn't actually state the rumour is untrue
They say the portal is "primarily" for users abroad (where Vodafone already carry the iPhone) but that doesn't explain the heavy UK bias in the newsfeeds available, or the fact that the UK is the default location for new registrations etc...
It's a fact that nobody concerned (be it Apple, Vodafone or O2) is likely to confirm anything until whatever big announcements may or may not be made in June.
