Right I'm buying a 360 Arcade edition, don't comment on that though
I want to put my hard drive into this and I want the XBOX to recognise it as a hard drive, it will be used with a 3.5" SATA 250gb Samsung drive.
Would it work?

I don't think it will, they need to be connected and have the same files as the 60GB/120GB official ones are

You can use any external USB storage medium (USB flash drive, memory card reader, iPod, even your phone) with an Xbox 360, BUT ONLY for playing back music, videos and pictures.

To save games, download things from Xbox Live, install games to the hard drive, you'll need an official Xbox hard drive.

You cant use your own 2.5" SATA hard drive in an Xbox hard drive caddy either, as they'll ban you from Xbox Live.

Lol I know, the only one time I'll agree with that statement in sarcasm though.

Its discussions like these that make me feel like I made a good decision to buy the ps3. My friends 360 got RRoD on the first day of the holidays, and it had to be sent to ms to get repaired so he couldn't play all holidays. LOL!
