Hi everyone,

I have the K770ia and happy with it, but every time I go to the camera utility, it states "open the lens cover", even though it IS open. If I go to Video Call mode, though, and select to use the camera (i.e., not the small one in front of the phone) it works fine.

This concludes that there is some fault with the hardware of my lens cover, not notifying the camera application that it is open.

My question is, is there any other camera application for my phone that I can use (which hopefully will not request the cover to be open)? OR, is there any mod out there cancelling that request made by Sony Ericsson's application?

My mate had this very same problem and was due to one of the tiny microswitches under the cover. Unfortunately i dont know of any way around this apart from a patch maybe. Sorry i cant help u further.

Had the same problem when the phone fell from about 1,7m height. The only help was to send the phone to the service.
