Sony Ericsson / Sony : Technical : I hate MTP Devices!

I've got a SE G705. The main drawback compared to my previous K750 and K550 is that now, the phone and memory stick are seen as MTP Devices in "Phone Mode". I avoid the "Mass Storage" mode as I whish to keep my phone functionalities available.

Since I don't care much about the multimedia files, the MTP device is very restrictive to me. It cannot be mapped to a drive and only multimedia files can be transfered to it. Also, synchronization tools like SyncToy won't work.

With most MT Devices it is possible to replace manually the driver with a USB Storage driver from Windows Device Manager, but with SE, the only other driver showing is
"Sony Ericsson Device 1018 USB NoMTP Interface"

In this case, the phone gets recognized as an imaging device in the Device Manager, the MTP devices desappear from the Windows explorer, but still no mass storage drive available!

So, does anybody knows of a way to tweak the phone (using a2uploader, far or XS++ ?) in order to simply force it as a Mass Storage in "phone mode" ?

For the moment I have the non-ideal following alternatives:
- enabling Network Sharing to access the phone as \\g705 from the Ethernet emulation, which gives a much slower transfer speed than USB.
- using the all time excellent myPhoneExplorer (my current alternative) but it's not as flexible.

Any suggestion much appreciated!
