Hey,

I'm in north america and (as i mentioned in an earlier post) was just sent a t68i as a present from my cousin overseas.. So far the phone seems REALLY cool.. Unfortunately the manual I was shipped with the phone was in japanese or chinese (pardon my ignorance!)

Any which way, from what I've figured out just by playing around I can't hit 1 (or any number) and then "yes" to speed dial a contact unless I have the contact saved on my sim card and the phone..

Is this right?? or am I just a slow learner? If this is right, why won't the phone just save numbers to both phone / sim at the same time or do I have to copy to the sim each and every time?

Also, what the hell is PIN2?? My SIM card had a default for PIN1 which I changed through the Locks menu.. But I tried guessing what PIN2 was over 5 times now anytime I try and change it it asks me for PUK2?? I think it only asks for PIN2 at some options..

I did just get this phone today so I might be gettin a bit ahead of myself.. But i wanna use as many of the features as I can.. and damn are there a LOT!!

This is my first GSM phone so i'm a bit lost...

any info you guys can provide me with will be highly appreciated!!

Mmmm well done :-D well yeh 1st ya should dl manual.......as for speed dials thing...as far as i kno that method of speed dial is 2 speed dial from the SIM so therefore yeh ya numbers do av 2 be copied across...bout ya PUK2 call ya operator n they give it 2 u..ya should NEVER mess wit PIN2 codes though unless told to do so by operator or at least kno the code!!!def never guess a PUK as that can damage ya SIM!shibby This message was posted from a T68i

Don't worry about PIN2, the majority of GSM users never use this PIN as they do not use or subscribe to a 'fixed dialling' service that requires it.

After failing to enter a correct PIN 3 or 5 times you will be required to enter a PUK code (obtain this from your operator) to unlock. If you mess up the PUK code 5 or 10 times then the SIM will lock it up completely (it's to prevent fraud). However, seeing it's PIN2 and PUK2 I wouldn't worry about it as your SIM probably doesn't use it anyway.

The GSM speed dialling you are referring to - typing a number followed by # and pressing YES will go to that location on your SIM card. 12 # YES will give you location 12. If you (like many T68i users) only use the phone memory, holding down a key will take you to the alphabetical index for the letter pressed (5 will take you to the beginning of your "J" contacts list).

And holding down the '1' key will dial your VoiceMail number.
