Hi friends i would like to know whats the difference between flashing and update service,the result is the update of software on the phone in these both processes.can we find .fbn and .mbn files in program files of update service?

Hi,

There is not difference, with both actions you will lose the information contained in your cell phone memory. And will receive a new sw.

I like the most using SEUS; you can use SEUS or A2 Uploader as you desire.

flashing means updating your phone manually with generic or branded firmware

seus is the default updating service
1.it updates the firmware
2.it makes your phone branded again that you need to debrand it for having flash menus etc
3.upgrades the CID version

the data will be lost in both actions

my suggest is you to go for flashing

asad, a lot of what you said is not true.

'Flashing' is the process of writing new code to the phone. All the tools we know do this; XS++, SETool, JDFlasher etc AND SEUS. The only difference with SEUS is that its automated. It first checks your CDA, then downloads from its servers the correct FW, custom files for your phone and region, then 'Flashes' to the phone. IF there is a CID upgrade, will also update(!) You can fool SEUS into debranding ur phone by changing the CDA to a generic one.

The difference between flashing and SEUS (update) is that you can choose your own firmware when flashing. I mean you are not forced to do only upgrades on the firmware. You can downgrade the firmware, or upgrade it without changing your CID and etc which is too difficult/impossible to do with SEUS and is risky also. Flashing may be risky process if you don't know what you are doing and you are not into that work much, but once you read some good tutorial it shouldn't be a problem. Also, flashing with third party software allows us to flash - crossflash our phone with firmware from another model (with the same platform and hardware specs) for e.g. k800 to k810 and etc...

So it depends what you need. It's said that flashing with 3rd party software ruins the phone warranty, which is not the case with SEUS. At the end it depends what you need yourself. If you want to experiment or do something more with the phone's firmware, you should use 3rd party software, but if you need the warranty and need a clean and proper update, SEUS is your option.

Yeah. I forgot to mention that you shouldn't go for 3rd party flashing if you don't have the proper firmware files, matching your phone model, CID and platform.

P.S. It's important to make a backup of your GDFS before you do anything with your phone using 3rd party softare.
