This only works when sending a message on T-Mobile UK.

When you create a new text message, prefix your text with !!

This will send the message as a flash type message.......try it.

Those who are not on T-Mobile coudl download a software to send text from their PC (through IR or Cable) that sends flash messages, and also nifty things liek turning on someones Voicemail or Email icon (even though they have no voice mail! EVIL! ). Its pretty good when you do the Email icon coz the only way to get rid of it isturning off the phone and turning it on again!

I cant rememebr the name of the software i had it two years ago, and used it successfully via Genie, so if anyone does locate it, post a link here!

I think it'll be Madwolf's "AlertSMS". It has the icon optiona and it's small, only about 180kb. I remember also other program, but i can't recall it's name.

So? Sony phones do that trick also. Even really old ones (cmd-x1000 i.e.)
