text-tv?!??! That's kinda pointless.

Anyway... back to the topic... TV on your celfone? Kinda old news. Samsung (or was it Panasonic) had one a long time ago (about a year or so) built into one of their small phones... looked like the Motorola V60 series, except it had a full color TFT TV built in.

Having a portable TV in ur celfone is fun to have...if you actually watch AIRED TV, and not cable (satellite TV, or internet TV would be better... hehehehe)

Remember that TV receivers drain a LOT of power, unless you want to manually tune your stations... the Samsung had a normal 2-3 day battery life... using the TV, it gave 4 hours...

So... I think celfone maufacturers dumped the idea of TV since not many people really really want one (I'd like to have one, but I wouldn't REQUIRE a celfone to have one) and it would drain too much power.

4G telephone networks are set to offer 100Mbps downlink speeds, and are already set to deliver high-resolution movies and television programs, and become a proof of identity device (you could, for example testify in court from your living room)

4G networks will probably first appear in Japan around 2010 and everywhere else 1-5 years after that (Although practical evaluations have already started) However theoretically we could have 4G networks by 2006.. but there's always a delay

3G WAS supposed to be huge but because of the battle to define the standards it ended up torn into 5 standards. But still, 3G compared to GSM and GPRS is just amazing, and video telephony is already here. 3G offers CD Quality audio, High speed internet, custom operator applications (e.g. instant messaging to all network subscribers)..
