Hey,

I know my contract is comming to an end in the next month or two with o2, and am eager to upgrade (iphone fan boy....).

My problem is, i rang a couple of weeks ago and was told to ring in the last month of my contract, but they did not tell me when that is. I cannot for the life of me work out when the last month is, my bills dont seem to give me any clue online. All i have to go with is a 'contract renewal date' which is 2 weeks away, but is that the end or the begining of my 'upgrade month'? I would rather upgrade sooner rather than experience some of these 'cancelation horror stories' ive scared myself reading online.

I hope my question is clear - hopefully someone experienced with o2s wicked ways can tell me when i should ring to upgrade....

o2 allow you to upgrade 1 month before your actual renewall date.
to find out your renewall date go to the o2 website and log in go to check my bill, tarriffs and services.

i think you can only upgrade to an iphone with iphone tarriffs.
maybe if you say you will only stay with o2 if you can keep your current tarriff and get an iphone, they usually bend over backwards to keep customers.

just had an interesting chat with o2.

first call - a nice lady told me straight up that the tariffs were being controlled and that i would not be able to simply upgrade to an iphone, and that a complete tariff change would be required. Ok, fair enough, i think i will be moving to tmobile, thanks for your help.

i then get a call back approx 30 seconds later, 'totaly unrelated to the previous call'...huhuhu.....a nice man named gareth told me that the most popular tariff with the iphone was the £35 a month (600any time min, 500 texts), and that this matched my average usage over the last 3 months perfectly, as ive recently been making calls at peak times when my minutes are off peak.

im hankering for the free to o2 bolton.....

what do you guys think?

you will probably get the free bolt on as the new iphone is expected in July(according to rumours on the web) and o2 will want to clear stocks of the old one i guess

tell them that tmobile,3 etc will give you a free bolt on and you will stay if the match it.
i doubt they will let your custom go,especially with the way the economy is these days.
