4 new Nokia phones today were revealed. May I ask why the hell does Nokia do better in design for flip phones then slider or candybar phones and why can't it put proper stuff in it?

I'm not sure I understand your statement/question.

Nokia makes stylish flip-phones (they've had to as they sell the most in North American market for any manufacturer); Remember the Motorola StarTac (the tiny one).

Slider phones not good enough for you? what of the N85 or upcoming N86 - the latter looks amazing!

Yeah I mean I like the design for the flips cause they have something going but for bar or slider I just can't stand it.

I really like the front looks of the Thresher, the Grouper looks like a Motorola though

the thresher is amazingly fresh looks, very stylish, but with very stale interfaces.... its still got s40! got, do you still give baby-food to teenagers? i didnt know that was the Nokia policy!!!
stlye is pretty good with thresher, but face it, its a lame phone.... on features...

the mako is a good phone, compact, somewhat stylish.... good great on features too... but wonder why they left out 3g. considering its QEWRTY phone, and you've got to make most of it...
BIG negative for mako...
also the screen is good, but bigger would have been better.
still, worth buying this phone....

the snapper and grouper are staright out of MOTO designs.. SHAME ON NOK FOR THIS! EXPECTE BETTER FROM WORLD NO1[now former!]
sheesh..... even if these phones have something new in them, like interactive touch, the outer lcd, interface, musik player.... but their designs are just not nokia's....... BAD BAD NOKIA!!!!

that said, nokia still has some great phones in their n-serie aresenal.....
watch out for them
they are complete entertaintment packages!

The snapper looks awful. It looks like any flip phone released 4 years ago. The grouper obviously takes A LOT of inspiration from past Motorola models, which is not a good thing going by the amount of people that wish Motorola would move on to a new design.

The other two look fine, although the Mako is a bit odd.

@coolharsh55: The thresher has S40 because it is a feature phone, not a smart phone. They can't all be smartphones mate.

hey! the s40 is now obsolete!!!!!!
im not saying put a blazing symbian thing in it!!!

but look at competition!! everyone has moved on!
even old MOTOROLLA!
and nokia is still here with s40...

compare that with SE same category phone... our OS is bigbetter!!!!!

so i think, nokia should put new things and make s40 better!!!
all they do is little cosmetic upgrade and interface upgrade depending on the phone..........

there's no upgrade in system.
lot of new nokia phones cant handle the heat...

Those names are just strange but then Nokia has always been quirky.
Snapper is passable for a camera phone but the others have no context?!?
