R3EA038 is a unbranded firmware. the other one is branded.

use the one without letter at end...
always use generic firmwares....
AS is region specific or a particular firmware....

One more question: Do you think SE will release new non-branded FW for C902?

there are generic firmwares. it just depends on the operator(in case the phone is branded) if it's not branded then you wont have any problem updating it.
BUT SEUS upgrades phones depending on their CDA also. some region of the world doesnt receive upgrades from SEUS frequently. the western and center europe regions have the latest updates, i think

Hello,
According to SonyEricsson change logs the only differences are some bug fixes,
nothing in the way of features. The "AS" version is the later of the two.

davinci are the experts in this field of modding...
so they do have that inside knowledge...
use generic... unless your phone has a different language pack you want to retain...
my suggestion is that you use the one without the letters.....
soon, there will be next firmware update..
and if there are differences between the two in terms of bug fixes, i think those might be minor updates, cause the basic firmware number of both is same...
if non-branded c902 is available in market, se will release non-branded firmware for it..
