With the latest FW of C905 we now have Google Maps 2.3.1 but you can download 2.3.2 compatible with C905,But you can't use it for Geo Tagging, photos taken with Geo Tag will show up on the old 2.3.1
Is there a way to force the C905 using 2.3.2 instead?

No I don't think so. The embedded Gmap is probably an extension to the OS. I have a G705 but I haven't explored the filesystem yet. I will try and find the embedded Gmap in the filesystem.

Okay last night I tried to find GMap in the filesystem to no avail. But of course, I found Wayfinder Navigator as a Java Apps. In fact I found a small app related to Gmap which tags the photos with GPS coordinates or something like it.

It would be much easier if I could get an extracted FS. Anybody has it?

The W995 has the new Google Maps embedded, with Street View.

I downloaded this for the C905 and you can install it IN ADDITION to the embedded version, but the one delivered to the phone didn't even support GPS properly - so you couldn't see your location, or press 0 for an approximate fix!

I haven't updated my C905 with the very latest firmware, but wonder if they've updated Google Maps in it? May do the firmware update later this afternoon and answer my own question!

Why google maps for C905 can't work without internet?
On the S60 version you can disable internet and just use GPS

With Mobile gMap you can download Google Maps and more to your phone for offline use. It works like a charm on W910 and G705.
