Samsung has shown off a 12 megapixel touchscreen phone, which will start shipping in Europe next month. The Samsung Pixon12 (M8910) also comes with a Dedicated Camera Power Key which gives users fast one-touch access to the camera function. The Pixon12 also features fast image saving for next shot, so users can move to next shot within around 2 seconds.

The phone also offers an auto-focus tracking - where users select focus point with the touch of a finger, after which the AF function will automatically follow the object, keeping it in focus even as it moves across the screen. Moreover, Smart Auto feature allows users to capture the perfect images as the camera automatically changes the scene and mode based on its object, background and lighting.

“The Pixon12 is testament to how Samsung’s ongoing consumer research enables us to develop ground-breaking products that do not just meet but surpass our customers’ expectations. Speedy access to the camera mode, fast shutter speed and quick browsing are some of the key factors consumers are looking for in their mobile phone cameras” said Executive Vice President JK Shin, Head of Mobile Communication Division in Samsung Electronics.

The Pixon12 comes with a 3.1” AMOLED screen, which boasts a contrast ratio of 10,000:1 while providing power-saving features which increase battery life.

Finally, the Pixon12 enables users to easily organize and manage photos with multiple ways of sorting - by tags, file names, ratings, and time. In addition, the multi-selection feature enables users to pull up images in groups rather than one by one, making viewing and editing photos much easier.

The Samsung Pixon12 will be available from end of June in European countries and it will be expanded to other regions in August.

That was always coming. Soon LG will announce and release theirs before SE. Like I wrote on Satio's thread I don't understand why they don't release Satio earlier since it's now running s60 v5 that is already out.

If it lacks a xenon flash it's an instant fail.

From the available screen shots they don't have much left to touch up on the Satio. A late july early august release would'nt do them much harm. It's not like s60 v5 is unstable. But, ya, this Samsung is nothing special, it's just their way of stealing customers from SE while they (Samsung) prepare a worthy competitor to Satio.

no surprise at all i was sure samsung's and quite frankly even lg's new highend phones will hit the shelves before SE. wide angle lens, photo flash/xenon d1 recording (if it had hd it would have beaten the crap of the satio).

How can it not have an OS.
Every cell phone has an OS. The M8910 doesn't have a smart phone OS.
