Just been into local Carphonewarehouse store this afternoon in Kings Heath Birmingham. I asked for latest brochure and the guy handed it to me then shut the door. I asked whats going on the assistant said last night the store was robbed and they got away with £60,000 worth of mobile phones This was only 3 miles from my home. Anyway for a while the store opened then they had to close for investigation. Crazy im in shock. Though they had a delivery of some new W995s. It said in window free on £25 tariff nice

Can't they block the phones and render them useless until if they get them or something?

They will be blocked here, but as fatreg and mrmilo69 were referring to, once they leave these shores, they can still be used abroad..

Not sure if they got anyone yet probably wont. Wonder if they got any laptops? Did not see anything on local news but its bad thats alot of money they have lost. They can sell the phones on but probably not a good idea selling them in the UK though. If they did people would track them down too easy they would probably hack them somehow.

£60,000? That would comprise of about 2 x W995's? Well they do moan about SE being overpriced.

LMAO yeah true though like I said in Carphone store W995 free from £25 per month O2 contracts Did I read right? Yes I did cos its on their site too. Though you say SE overpriced Carphone advertised the Nokia N97 @ £700 well £699 to be exact. Is it worth that much. Anyway the guy in the store said they got away with some w995 handsets the staff looked really pissed. Though I never really imagined that amounts worth of phones would be in one store? But this store is a very large store.
