Bookmark topic
Hi there,
I recently bought the Sony Ericsson C905 (produced in week 16/2009) and I really enjoy it. However now that I'm going on vacation for the summer, I will be abroad, and wish to somehow disable 3G so I won't accidentally start surfing on a foreign network which in the end in a high bill from my carrier.
So my question is: is there away to disable 3G on the Sony Ericsson C905?
Any reply is appreciated
SS
PS: I hope this is located in the right forum - otherwise feel free to move my post!

OK - I'm pretty stupid...
The solution is:
To enable/disable the 3G network:
1. Select Menu > Settings > Connectivity (tab).
2. Select Mobile networks > GSM/3G networks.
3. To enable 3G, select GSM and 3G. To disable 3G, select GSM only.
I am sorry for waiting your time! But anyone searching for this problem, now find a solution!

Hi there.
You shouldn't have to disable 3G as your phone will only use 2G internet or 3G internet if you intentionally go online. Also, even if you do deactivate 3G then your phone can still go online and surf the web with 2G (gprs) but again, only if you intentionally do so.
If you are worried about going online then I suggest you delete your internet settings when you go abroad and then reinstall them when you come back. This can be done from the SE support site. You should find out how to do this now, before you go.
