The 7210 has more colour than the t68i so why are we all crazy for the t68i?

don't really wanna get nasty, but all i'll say is that form follows function, not the other way around.
engineering over marketing any day.

Well, I agree that form follows functions... but I do think that the T68i looks a lot better than the mutant 7210 with it's "trying to be cool" keypad... same goes for the new 3650...geez, did you guys know that the 3650 is LARGER than the P800???

maybe size does matter, but we're really just talking about a few mm narrower for the 7210. it's not like we're comparing the 7210 with the r520 or anything like that. but that tacky styling with the cheap jewelry keypad, i dunno... and better screen resolution does not a great phone make.
and since we're talking design, i actually prefer the 68m over the 68i. for me at least, the 68m looks more ericsson while the 68i looks more sony...

7210 have various ghosts/shadowing effects on the display, lesser focus than t68i and not that bright compare to t68i. And also the keypad layout is a bit too innovative, make people harder to write sms.

The T68i display is not as big or colourful as the 7210. I think the Nokia has a better display, 4096 colours is not photo quality, but it's better than 256.
There are other differences, the Nokia has polyphonic ringtones which is nice, even though I'm not really into it. It also has a stereo radio which occasionally could be useful to have, and it has a speakerphone.
Design-wise, it's up to personal choice but the 7210 does have changeable covers available.
The T68i has Bluetooth (if you want wireless connectivity and hands-free then there is no other choice). It also stores a greater number of images and can display pictures of callers from CallerID (which is nice), transferring images and ringtone from T68i to T68i can be done with infrared or Bluetooth, the 7210 cannot even do this through infrared as it's firmware prevent it for copyright protection purposes (Nokia's way of helping service providers make more money from logos and ringtones).
The T68i also has voice dialling, voice answer (for complete hands-free use). It also have voice recording for MMS attachments which the 7210 has strangely omitted.
The 7210 is a newer and flasher phone, but the T68i performs in many areas that the 7210 cannot.

I think the important thing to consider with regards to the better screen on the 7210 is that the T68/T68i is now one and a half years old! A better comparison would be Siemens S55 vs. 7210 because they're both new.
Nokia knew a better screen would be more important to the "masses" who think that the better aphone looks, the better it is. They usually don't understand the meaning of "features".
