Hi,

I'm sorry if there is already a forum for these, however I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems. I have a Sim free handset, which I've only had for about 3 days, and already experiencing problems. Once I got the handset, I used SEUS to update to the most current firmware. However, as I didn't test either of the below functions before updating, I'm not able to tell whether this was because of the update or not.

The first thing I noticed is that whilst video recording, it would simply cut out sometimes. It would beep, as though I'd pressed the camera button to stop recording, or like I'd set it to only record a short clip for an MMS. I've checked the settings, and it seems to do it more whilst I'm zooming in or out, but I'm definitely not hitting the camera button, or any other button by mistake. I'd taken a video, which then crashed and is now showing as a corrupt video in my Videos folder.

The second thing, is I woke up late this morning to my alarm which hadn't gone off. Instead it said 'Alarm snoozing for 10 minutes', however that was the alarm from about an hour before. The phone had just froze completely.

Has anyone else had either of these problems?

Sadly that alarm bug also happens to my C905, also running R1EA033.

EDIT: wrote the wrong firmware name, was drunk that night

lol, I think it's safe to say "it has begun"...

Anyways, at least the problems so far seem to be software related, so they can be fixed...

What is it with SE and alarm function? They just can't seem to get it right. What is even more disturbing, is the fact that the bug is croos-platform : from UIQ3 Symbian to A300. is it contagious or what?

You see, the weird thing is I've had Sony Ericssons right from T610, W900, P1, etc right through to C905 and W995, and with every handset, I've never had a single problem with the alarm until now. But it is pretty annoying, especially when I use it to wake me up for work lol.

I'm wondering if it's perhaps just a glitch when updating, as I've searched the internet for more users who have had this problem, but can't find any mention of it. In peoples experience, have they ever had any software issues that have been solved by reinstalling the same firmware? And is this possible to do via SEUS?

Thanks,

If you have an older version of SEUS maybe its possible, they removed that feature in the last version of the software (cant imagine why, though)

s32bauer Regarding your video recording cutting out try formatting the memory card in the phone itself. I had the same problem when I had my c510 whilst recording video in highest setting after 12 seconds it beeped & cut off. This was resolved after formatting the memory card. Good luck

@s32bauer I've seen a few people with P1 that had alarm problems. My P990 misses an alarm every know and then too. I can't pinpoint the pattern and the cause, but I read somewhere that it has something to do with language pack or something ( I maybe am talking gibberish here... ) Luckily, T250 never misses it ! :)
