As the title says why do Sony Ericsson phones still have this problem and whats causing it? Its been happening for years now since the Walkman series began. I still love Sony Ericsson and their sound quality but i noticed with my w595 and c510 and other phones before it the still crackling noise when skipping or pausing tracks. Is this in some other new Sony Ericsson phones and why?

Well, what you're describing has never happened to me.
The song usually fades out/in when pausing/resuming.

Seriously i thought this was a well known issue. God thats strange cos i notice the slight crackle alot just happened again when i paused a track. Its not the headphones or the connector. I remember it started i think back with the w810.

@Bonovox: I also have this problem in my C702, however, its not consistent, it happens, but not always... it must be a software bug...

Same here. It happens with my W910, sometimes it's annoying ...

Yep I've got this problem on my K850i as well, I never did much about it but presumed a FW update would fix it but after updating because of other reasons it still does it some times...that's life though I guess.

My C905 used to when it was on old firmware, but it seems to have been fixed on the new firmwares
