Cut a long story short, but I am having to drive to Prestatyn, North Wales next weekend to photograph the National Street Dance Championships, and looking for the best way there..
I have looked on the travel routes but there might be some valuable advice out there.
Currently, M25, M40, M42, M6 Toll and M6 and M52.
Its a 5hr journey.
I might stop at the services near Burgaz Brothel Parlour to get refuel but thats looking slim...

I go up that way alot cos i love going on the ferry back to Ireland. It takes around 3 hours by train lol

If your heading M6 North then plan for congestion between j9-j11 which can set you back up to 1hr (I've been travelling between j15 and j6 everyday for the last 2 months now and it's the same everyday) and also congestion between j16-j20 (officially the worst section of the M6) Also keep an eye out for 2 unmarked police cars. Both BMW's in black and silver on 58 plate's. Don't know what series though cos most BMW's look the same to me these day's. They're the mid range model's i think (3 or 5 series)

An alternative for you could be. M25, M40, M42, M6 Toll, then M54, A5 to betws y coed, then the A470 to Conwy, then the A55 up to Prestatyn.
Just a thought, of maybe missing out most of the M6.
