I have an unlocked, unbranded week 49 C905 and after I did the latest firmware update (R1EA033) the gps won't find any satellites. It shows WESTERN_EUROPE in the software info section and I'm using it in Romania (EE) but that shouldn't be a problem. Left Status info running for about 15 minutes and it didn't pick up any satellites. Slide opened or closed doesn't help. Anyone else experienced this?

Have you turned on A-GPS? It helps a lot in getting an initial fix (the first time we try to get a connection to a satellite after a firmware update).

If by A-GPS you mean Assisted start in Location Services settings, than yes, it's on.

You must think I'm some sort of idiot because I only have 4 posts. Yes I've turned the phone on, yes it has the battery and sim card in and no, I'm not trying the GPS under water, hope I've answered all your questions and I really appreciate your burning desire to help me/get more forum posts.

I've tried everything bar flashing it with an older firmware before I posted here, was just hoping someone else had the same problems and figured out a less intrusive fix.

Please don't get it wrong I'm only trying to help. There are many people who create a new thread as soon as they encounter a problem, without first trying the basic things like restarting the phone.

Hey Diak,

give StevenC a chance. He took his time to reply..

I have used computers for too many years, and forgot to check the basics when I had a problem recently.

Nobody thinks that You must think I'm some sort of idiot because I only have 4 posts.

but they will if you respond like that when someone tries to help.

Back on topic ...

you should keep your romanian attitude on the right level or you wont get any help at all.
And yes because you only made 4 posts you could might as well be and idiot or unfamiliar to phones or how to search help in a forum.
try do another firmware Reinstall through SEUS and nothing else.
