I find on pre Clear Bass phones that I actually need to use Mega Bass or Loudness (on UIQ) to get the sound I like. On phones like the W980 and W705, I don't like any of the equalisers and leave it on Normal.

I always find Mega Bass muffled i use manual instead which gives me bass plus clarity

i have k800 with eq presets installed including megabass...
i just bought hi-fi headphones
which have good bass
if you use stock drivers, then mega bass is a must
but i used modded ones which already had high mix of bass
so, i had to use sunfire which have low bass...
this way, i can turn on bass anytime by using megabass
otherwise i use settings like pop, rock, rap on equaliser
or, can use alternate driver
personally, i ifnd having mega bass is a better option in the player

Even though i listen to mostly rock music i hate over the top bass. These days people just hear bass in their heads rather than a good mix of bass treble and midrange. I like to hear the music clarity not just bass bass bass. Like idiots in cars with subwoofers sorry if i offend anyone lol

Megabass sounds muffled with brute, unintelligent bass register which is simply annoying. It's prehistoric technology. Clear Bass is much better whereby it seems like they've developed a seperate bass channel which we're able to control without affecting the rest of the audio channel. I agree that most presets from post Megabass phones suck, but certain custom settings can really give you bang for the buck.
