Hello All,
I've spent the last week lurking around here trying to find out as much as I can about the P800 and have been amazed at the depth of knowledge out there! Anyway, apologies for probably covering some things that have been done before but here goes:

1) Charging
Can it be charged away from the cradle? This is something that turned me off the SPV as not being able to charge at work or at home was pointless!

2) Predictive Text
Really not included?!

3) Synching
Has anyone tried synching it with different versions of Outlook on different PCs? I use Outlook 2000 at home and 98 in the office. Will this present a problem

4) Availability in the UK
News on this from shops is shocking. I went round a dozen stores in one city just after Christmas and got 3 shops saying end of Jan, 4 enf of Feb, 1 DEFINITELY end of March and the others didn't know. Prices were all over the place as well. Shocking!

Anyway, thanks for reading, hope you can help

Hoonior.

This phone is NOT designed to be used with win98,
Also the charging plug is same as t68 (use your old car charger ETC)
Is someone suggesting the SPV can`t be charged in your car ??????

Hi Pachy,
No, the SPV can only be charged with a cradle. As I can work from home or the office I couldn't see the point in only being able to charge in one place as the cradles aren't sold separately!

Whichever muppet thought of that needs his head looking at!!

Thanks for the replies

1. yes. charger can b detached from the cradle...
2. not included in standard package, but this can be provided by third party developers... similar to palm pilot, T9 was provided as a third party application...
3. im using Office 2k, no problems... but i think sync works only on Win2k OS...
4. i read somewhere (on esato forums), UK launch is feb...

That SPV charging info is the most strange thing i ever heard, how to use in car ??????
SE have stated that T9 will NOT be available for p8, maybe this will change but as soon as you buy a p8 it is very obvious why it`s not there, YOU DON`T NEED T9.
